West Hartford, CT – Blum Shapiro Consulting, an affiliate of Blum Shapiro, the largest regional accounting and business consulting firm based in Connecticut, has greatly expanded its staff and service offerings through the addition of TRC Health Solutions, NDS Nowak Data Systems, Inc. and several new consultants. As a result of the expansion, Blum Shapiro Consulting has grown to 40 staff members in three states providing a full range of management and technology consulting, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) advisory services and financial software solutions.

The new healthcare consulting group primarily serves healthcare organizations and hospitals nationwide. It helps organizations operate more effectively and efficiently through innovative and practical solutions in operations, finance and information technology. David A. Gladstone, a resident of Middletown, leads the healthcare consulting group of nine professionals. He has over 20 years of healthcare financial management experience including positions as managing principal of TRC Health Solutions, partner in Arthur Andersen's Business Consulting practice, managing director at BearingPoint Consulting and as CFO of St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. Gladstone received a Bachelor's in Economics from the Wharton School of Commerce and Finance and a Bachelor's in History from the University of Pennsylvania. Other members of the group have Big 4 consulting backgrounds as well, and provide financial, clinical, technical and operational experience. Key team members provide services from offices in West Hartford and Southport, Connecticut, Boston and New York City.

Our second merger, with NDS Nowak Data Systems, Inc. greatly expands Blum Shapiro's SAGE software practice by providing accounting system and management software and service solutions to middle market companies. As a result of this merger, we are the largest Sage Software reseller in Connecticut and one of the largest in New England. Sage Software is one of the largest providers to middle market clients worldwide. James Nowak, CPA, a resident of Hamden, founded the firm in 1985, which served owners and managers of companies in manufacturing, distribution, construction, retail, financial services and other industries. Nowak received a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1968. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1972.
